WCCA was the stepping stone I needed to enter the dog training world. It was a great balance of classroom and hands-on learning coupled with problem solving discussions. Dog training isn't black and white Brandi brings dogs at varying skills and temperament levels.  The classroom time provided good foundational instruction, but the homework review is where I felt my skills were perfected.  Brandi provides voice over critiques of your homework videos. Watching  these videos back provided a level of clarity and grew my understanding of classroom content. I highly recommend this program if you're looking into learning from an industry leader and growing your dog training skills.

Absolutely loved this Foundations course - the weekly classroom with Brandi, the in class practicals, the weekly video homework with feedback, even the final testing was really great. Thought this course was very well structured and detailed. Hands down a fantastic 8 week trainer training, tons of content, & would highly recommend to anyone with an interest in dog training.

The WCCA ”Train the Trainer" course exceeded my expectations. It not only equipped me with the necessary skills to be a dog trainer but to be able to deliver effective training sessions to clients.  The course provided ample resources, including reading materials, examples, and tools for conducting effective training sessions.  I highly recommend this course to anyone looking to enhance their dog training skills.

As a canine massage therapist and dog rescue worker, I feel that the fundamentals course I took with WCCA has greatly improved my understanding of human to dog relationship and interaction as well as the psychology and instincts of the canine mind. The course had a great balance of hands on learning as well as traditional book learning and I was easily able to practice and improve my use of the techniques in the field. I would highly recommend this course to anyone wishing to enter the field of dog training or any dog owners that wish to gain a better understanding and provide better leadership for their dog.

Foundations of Canine Behavior

I have owned a pet care business for the past 10 years, which includes taking care of, working with and training all ages and breeds of dogs.  This course was very valuable in delving in to the whys of canine behavior, and then knowing how to work with the individual dogs in your care for fulfillment and success.  I loved that each class was very hands on and focused on specific skills/traits with different dogs (some our own) in a very safe environment. Homework included video taping (cell phone was adequate) each assignment and practice with an individual dog(s).  Truly hands on and a great resource for immediate review and critique. I don’t hesitate to recommend this course!

"Here’s what I can say about the course…

For me, The Foundations course - a fantastic 8 week course that includes classroom learning, class practicals with our dogs the weekly video homework.  The course is well structured and I learned so much to take back into the “real world” where I work as a veterinary technician.  I would recommend this course to anyone in the industry, that has contact with dogs including veterinary receptionists, and definitely anyone interested in dog training.  I learned a lot that I can use at home with my dog as well. “I can’t say enough great things about West Coast Canine Academics, Brandi and Foundations course I took. I learned so much in 8 weeks. I feel like it really set me up for success not only with my new pup but my clients and community. There was no one size fits all approach with her, which I loved. Her understanding of what it takes to raise a mentally healthy dog was just superb. I’ve been able to apply so much of my classes to my everyday workflow pack walking. I’d hands down take this class again. Best money I’ve spent.”
