What if I am sick on a class or workshop dayIf you are sick (be it the flu, covid or any other contagious illness) please do not come to class as we WILL require you leave class. If you are attending as a Audit Student, you may ask classmates for notes. If you are attending as a Working Student, you may ask classmates for notes Be sure you watch all homework videos that your classmates are posting - this will align with the notes you have been given. You will be required to turn in your homework. If you missed a test, we do not redo any tests. All classes, courses and workshops are non-refundable.

Are there payment options?WCCA takes all major credit cards. You can make payments up until 15 days prior to start date at which time payment is due in full. There are no refunds on deposits or payments made unless you cancel your course in writing to contact@westcoastcanineacademics.com 20 days prior to class start date.

What if I can't attend after paying for my course?We offer refunds if you cancel in writing to contact@westcoastcanineacademics.com 20 days prior to class starting. We do not refund the non-refundable deposit. We do not refund any dollar amount paid for workshops as we have paid the professional for your seat in class.

Can I get my deposit back?Deposits are non-refundalbe and non-transferable. They hold your seat in class which prohibits another student from leaving a deposit or paying for that seat.

Can I get a refund on my workshop?Workshops are non-refundable at any time. We do allow you to sell your spot as long as it is done and the transfer to the new student is completed within 20 days prior to the workshop start date. You will need to contact us in writing to contact@westcoastcanineacademics.com with all the information of the new attendee. The new attendee will have had to register with us prior to you contacting us so we can transfer all information over to the new attendees account. If you have been given any materials for the workshop you must give all of the materials to the new attendee, we do not replace the materials that were given to you.

What is the difference between a course and a workshopWCCA Courses run throughout the year and many have the option to work toward certification. Courses are also much longer than a workshop running anywhere from 4 - 12 weeks. Workshops are short, typically 2 to 4 days in length. They do not offer any type of certification and change throughout the year. Most do not require any prerequisite to attend. They are best for those that have already been training, have finished up a foundtional school, internship or apprentiship or have completed our Foundations in Pet Dog Training Course.

Can I make up a class if I miss it?No, we do not have make-up classes. If you already know you will be gone, let your instructor know as they can give you the homework in advance, this will make a big difference. You can also ask classmates for notes. If you are a Working Student be sure to watch instructor homework video reviews for the time you missed as this will align with the classmates notes. You will be required to do all homework by due date. Tests can not be made up.

What should I bring to the first day of class?Please refer to your confirmation email for this information.

Can I record in my course or workshop?No, we do not allow any audio, video or any other type of recordings of any classes, courses or workshops. We do not allow computers in class and all electronics must be silenced and put away in bags, purses or backpacks. Anyone recording will be permentaly removed from class without any refund of monies and any certification or completion they hold will be permanently removed without the possiblility of reinstatment.

How many hours of hands on training experience is needed for certification elegibility?The requirements to meet all criteria for certification are dependant on the certification you are going for. Please see our Courses page for individual certification requirements.

Am I guarenteed WCCA Certification if I complete a course?No, it is mandatory that all requirements are completed to WCCA standards. We look at many aspects of the internship/hands on training hours alongside course lecture understanding and test scores to determine Certification.

Do all courses come with the option to be certified?No, not all courses will have certification so be sure to read the full class description.

Can anyone take courses?Yes, anyone can take a course to obtain more knowledge. Some classes, courses and workshops may come with a prerequisite requirement. Check before registering. You can read courses descriptions as well.

How much can a Certified Dog Trainer make?The beauty of being a dog trainer working for yourself, you can set your price. Determining what is a fair price for your education and experience is something we can absolutely help you with. WCCA Certified Trainers start at $65/hr and up for in-home private sessions. WCCA Head Trainers/Instructors make a min of $165/hr and up for private training. There are also many options depending what training programs you are implementing, if you work for someone or if you work for yourself. WCCA has business classes that help you structure programs and price the according to your abilities and experience. We also support our WCCA Certified Instructors throughout the years to help them raise prices and adjust programs.

How do I build a clientele ?We help WCCA Certified Dog Trainers book clients when they train for us directly. We will book your for sessions. When working for your self we have business courses to help you with everything from building a website (we offer site building options), creating programs and pricing to how to market grass roots to your local community. If you are a WCCA Certified Trainer we also list you on our website as a certified trainer and offer a community where trainers can provide help and referrals to each other.

Can I get replacments of my class materials?We do not replace any class materials for any reason.
